Just when I was sorting my glasses from my plastics and making sure that I was switching off all my appliances (I want to feel environmentally-friendly enough for tomorrow’s webchat with eco warrior Hannah Sandling at 1pm) my minor eco steps appear to have been out trumped! Two of my friends are moving into an eco TOWER!

Strata SE1 is the first major residential development in the world in which wind turbines have been constructed within the fabric of the building, generating heating and electricity requirements on site and minimising energy requirements – rainwater is even harvested for re-use! Now that’s sustainable living … sustainable living that kind of stole my double-sided printing’s thunder!

And just when you might imagine that the interiors are all made of mud flooring and biodegradable wheat upholstery, check out how sleek and swanky the apartments are. Can’t wait to see how they decorate it. Ahem, invite me over, ahem!
