After seeing pics of Catchpole & Rye’s new summer range of baths I realise I’m more in touch with my feminine side than I ever imagined! The Provence, for example, is pastel yellow – and it’s set against a pretty pink backdrop that would make most men run a mile. But I actually love it – apparently this roll-top design took its inspiration from an antique bath reclaimed from a chateau in France. Marvellous. Wonder what surprises tomorrow has in store?

The good …
I adore traditional freestanding baths and I ADORE colour, so it’s no surprise that I really like this bathroom scheme. I’m not even offended that they’ve painted the metal feet.

I mean, I’m all for making a bath the focal point, but when it reminds you of the end scene of Ghostbusters …? p.s I’m not sure if I want to know what’s image is tiled on that wall.

Button back chair? Elegant. Button back headboard? Classic. Button back BATH? I just don’t agree! And the drapes … oh the drapes. It’s like the set of ‘The Emperor’s New Clothes’.

Maybe I’m being a bit harsh, but this SHOCKING bathroom makes me feel like I’ve stepped into a horrifying 1980s TV programme. I can’t think of anything less relaxing than getting into a ‘hot tub’ and being confronted with a giant SALMON-COLOURED shell!

I must say, my idea of a relaxing bath or shower, is NOT wondering whether or not tonight will be the night I get zapped into an alternative universe – and I don’t think I’d take that risk with these futuristic bathroom designs.
I found them on Freshome, which always chats about the latest bathroom designs … well they don’t get more modern than this! Innovative and funky, yes, cosy and inviting?? … not unless you’re into alien abductions.
